Japanese brand MECHA SMILE officially announced today the latest product, "Dancouga," which combines the features of its two major series, "THE GATTAI" and "HAGANE WORKS," from the anime "Super Beast Machine God Dancouga." It is scheduled for release in May 2023.
In the story, Dr. Hazuki secretly developed four super weapons, the "Beast Machines" (Jūsenki), to counter the invasion of an alien empire from another dimension. He then recruited four young individuals, including Shinobu Fujiwara, from the officer academy to serve as pilots. The four Beast Machines are powerful weapons capable of three-stage transformation: normal mode, beast mode, and robot mode. They can further combine into the giant robot "Dancouga" to unleash maximum combat power, drawing immeasurable strength by sensing the pilots' spiritual energy. However, this also places a significant burden on their minds and bodies.
The "THE GATTAI HAGANE WORKS Dancouga" is rendered in three dimensions based on the latest design sketches drawn by animator Masami Obari. It utilizes composite materials such as plastic and alloy parts to create the cool-looking "Eagle Fighter," "Land Liger," "Flying Panther," and "Big Moth." All four machines can reproduce their normal, beast, and robot forms through a complete transformation mechanism, without leaving any leftover parts!
During combination, it also features a complete combining transformation mechanism, allowing it to reproduce the approximately 30 cm tall Dancouga without needing to swap any parts. The alloy content is quite substantial, with a total weight of 1.4 kg, offering both a weighty feel when handled and firm, articulated alloy joints. The articulated features of this product include an opening mouth and fully articulated fingers. The shoulder and chest armor also feature an original transformation mechanism, allowing users to choose between a more blocky design closer to the TV anime version or a sharper, reinterpreted design for this version.
The armament includes the signature weapon "Dankuken" (Dancouga Sword), which is comparable in length to the main body. The twin cannons on the back, which can rotate 90 degrees, can reproduce the special move Dankuhō (Dancouga Cannon). Furthermore, the weapons of the four Beast Machines can combine into the cool "Daigan" (Big Gun) through a mechanism that leaves no leftover parts. The dedicated display stand features supports on both sides and the rear, allowing for the display of the Dankuken, Daigan, and back booster.
