To commemorate the broadcast of the anime adaptation of "Futo Detectives," the legitimate sequel to "Kamen Rider W," Bandai Spirits' premium adult collectible Kamen Rider belt series, 'COMPLETE SELECTION MODIFICATION,' has announced two new products: 'Double Driver ver.1.5 Futo Detectives EDITION' and 'Gaia Memory ver.1.5 Futo Detectives EDITION,' scheduled for release in January 2023.
'Futo Detectives,' with a script by Riku Sanjo and art by Masaki Sato, is the legitimate manga sequel that directly follows the live-action "Kamen Rider W." Even after the collapse of the previous antagonist "Museum," many Gaia Memories remain scattered throughout the city. The protagonist, Shotaro Hidari, continues to run the Narumi Detective Agency in Futo with his partners Philip and Akiko Narumi, solving various cases, big and small. One day, Shotaro coincidentally encounters Tokime, a mysterious beautiful woman with incredible abilities, unveiling the prelude to a series of events.
The design and functionality of the belt and Double Driver parts of the "CSM Double Driver ver.1.5 Futo Detectives EDITION" are essentially the same as the regular ver.1.5 released in 2019. It features metallic paintwork to recreate the texture of the Double Driver, and possesses the same movable mechanisms and sound and light effects as seen in the show. It includes six Gaia Memories: JOKER, METAL, TRIGGER, CYCLONE, HEAT, and LUNA. These can be inserted in any combination into either side of the driver or the side finisher slot to play a rich array of transformation, finisher, and dialogue sound effects.
The difference from previous versions is that all six Gaia Memories in this product feature a new "Dialogue Mode." The dialogue sound effects are newly recorded by the voice actors from the "Futo Detectives" anime: Yoshimasa Hosoya (Shotaro Hidari) and Koki Uchiyama (Philip). The six Gaia Memories can play over 60 types of in-show dialogue in total. When inserted into the driver in Dialogue Mode, the lines will play in conjunction with the transformation and finisher sound effects, enhancing the sense of immersion.
The "CSM Gaia Memory ver.1.5 Futo Detectives EDITION" is a standalone release of the aforementioned six new Gaia Memories.
