Following the previous "Mantis" and "Mantis 02" releases, Bandai Namco Toys' GASHAPON division, known for its highly popular "Insect Encyclopedia" ultra-realistic shell-less eco-capsule toys, is now set to launch the second wave, "Mantis 03 (かまきり03)" capsule toys, featuring even more exciting mantises! Each capsule toy has a suggested retail price of 500 JPY and is scheduled to be released in the fifth week of August 2022!
The "GASHAPON Mantis 03 Capsule Toys" were developed and produced with professional cooperation from the Minoo Park Insect Museum in Japan. They utilize X-ray CT scans to thoroughly recreate the specimen's form. This collection includes six types: "Orchid Mantis Pink", "Orchid Mantis White", "Broad-Headed Mantis Adult Green/Dark Brown", and "Broad-Headed Mantis Larva Green/Dark Brown". With a large size of approximately 10 cm in total length, the body structure is realistically reproduced, completely recreating biological structures including the body shape, slender antennae, and sickle-shaped raptorial legs. The details of the front and hind wings are presented with transparent material. Furthermore, with movable joints and internal articulation mechanisms, the entire body features 17 points of articulation, allowing for the recreation of vivid and realistic poses such as mantises preying or spreading their wings!
