Japanese model manufacturer FUJIMI's plastic model "Free Research" series is once again collaborating this year with the highly popular work "Evangelion", today announcing two new collaborative products: "Dead Leaf Giant Mantis Unit-01 Specification" and "Dead Leaf Giant Mantis Unit-08 Specification", both expected to be released in November 2022.
The "Dead Leaf Giant Mantis Unit-01 Specification" and "Dead Leaf Giant Mantis Unit-08 Specification" are based on previously released standard version kits. Their molded colors have been replaced with the purple, green, and black scheme of EVA Unit-01, and the pink, white, and black scheme of EVA Unit-08, respectively. When completed, the models measure nearly 20 cm in total length. The intricate sculpting faithfully reproduces the large compound eyes, sharp mandibles, and slender antennae of the inverted triangular head. The forelegs also recreate the numerous spikes used to restrict prey's movement, and by replacing the mid-legs and wing parts, the intimidating posture can be reproduced!
