BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan (Candy Toy) division of Bandai Co., Ltd. in Japan, today (19th) officially announced the latest product from "Super Robot Wars OG," "R-1 & R-GUN," from its popular assembly model Shokugan series "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT," scheduled for release in January 2023.
The "SRX Project" is a development plan for humanoid mobile weapons called "Personal Troopers," initiated by the Earth Federation Army to enhance Earth's military defense capabilities and executed by the Far East Branch's Izu Base. Its purpose is to utilize EOT (Extra-Over Technology) to create super weapons capable of single-handedly turning the tide of battle. Representative units include the highly mobile "R-1" which can transform into a fighter jet, the heavily armored artillery type "R-2," the long-range sniper type "R-3," and the "R-GUN" which operates as a dedicated weapon. Each of the four units possesses unique armaments and can operate independently. However, their true value is unleashed when they combine into the super robot "SRX (Super Robot X-Type)," possessing extremely powerful combat capabilities and able to utilize the pilots' psychokinesis to unleash high-firepower armaments such as "Tenjo Tenge Nen-Dō Bakusai Ken" (Heaven and Earth Psychokinetic Burst Sword) and "Tenjo Tenge Ichigeki Hissatsu Hō" (Heaven and Earth One-Shot Kill Cannon).
The "SMP R-1 & R-GUN" kit can be assembled into R-1 and R-GUN, each approximately 13 cm tall. In addition to reproducing their in-game appearances, they also feature a certain degree of articulation. R-1 comes with armaments such as the Cold Metal Knife, G-Revolver, and Boosted Rifle, as well as green gauntlet parts to recreate its classic move "T-LINK Knuckle." R-GUN can utilize the "Twin Revolver Rifle" and the back-mounted "Slash Boomerang." Both units can also reproduce their transformed forms!
SMP will also soon announce subsequent SRX Project products, "R-2 Powered & R-3 Powered" and "Invincible Expansion Parts Set." When combined with R-1 & R-GUN, these will allow for the recreation of the combined super robot SRX and the "Tenjo Tenge Ichigeki Hissatsu Hō" (Heaven and Earth One-Shot Kill Cannon), the dedicated weapon formed by the transformed R-GUN Powered!
