BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan (candy toy) division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., today announced the latest additions to its "EVA-FRAME" series of Evangelion Shokugan products, which incorporate a movable frame structure. The "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time Overlapping Parts Set 1" and "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time Overlapping Parts Set 2" are scheduled for release in January 2023. Both products will be sold exclusively at the official stores, PREMIUM BANDAI and EVANGELION STORE.
The "EVA-FRAME" series continues the features of the "Mobile Suit Gundam G-FRAME" series, offering sophisticated Shokugan products that boast a movable frame and separate armor (restraints) parts. Each EVA stands approximately 13 cm tall. Compared to Gundam frames, the EVA bare frame, which closely resembles the human body in structure, provides even more flexible articulation. Articulated joints are meticulously designed in the chest, waist, and limbs, enabling the recreation of dynamic and explosive actions such as EVA running and jumping.
"EVA-FRAME Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time Overlapping Parts Set 1" includes one "EVANGELION Modified Unit-08γ (Predation Scene Ver.)," one "EVANGELION Mark.09-A," and accessories such as two High-Vibration Particle Blade-equipped Electromagnetic Rifles and open-hand parts. The set features a new head sculpt that masterfully recreates the iconic scene from the film where Modified Unit-08γ exposes its mouth to devour Mark.09-A through 12, as well as the memorable scene of it fighting alongside New Unit-02α.
"EVA-FRAME Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time Overlapping Parts Set 2," on the other hand, comprises three EVANGELION units: Mark.10, Mark.11, and Mark.12. These three units are essentially identical in design, differing only in their armor colors. Thanks to the universal EVA-FRAME skeleton, they achieve outstanding articulation. When combined with "Overlapping Parts Set 1," collectors can vividly recreate the dramatic scene from the film where these units are devoured by Modified Unit-08γ.
