Bushiroad Creative, the anime and manga merchandise distributor under Japan's Bushiroad, announced the official release of their latest gashapon toy, "Taiko no Tatsujin: Don-chan & Katsu-chan That Really Make Sounds," themed after the super popular music rhythm game "Taiko no Tatsujin," on August 29, 2022.
This release features the two mascots familiar to all "Taiko no Tatsujin" players, "Don-chan" and "Katsu-chan." Their full names are Wada Don and Wada Katsu. They are taiko drums crafted with utmost dedication by a renowned taiko artisan from Japan's Hokuriku region, embodying the spirits of twins and taiko. With their expressive, cute faces on the drumheads and four short, adorable legs on their bodies, they are both charming and endearing. They have not only appeared on the covers of all past titles but their faces are also used as rhythm symbols in the game, making them the soul characters of "Taiko no Tatsujin."
The gashapon toy "Taiko no Tatsujin: Don-chan & Katsu-chan That Really Make Sounds" released by Bushiroad this time brings these two adorable mascots to life in 3D, with their round, drum-like bodies and cute, short limbs. Not only can they stand, but they also feature three different facial expressions each, making for a total of 6 versions to collect. What's more, by using the two small drumsticks included with the product to strike Don-chan's or Katsu-chan's faces or drum edges, they genuinely produce sounds!
