Max Factory, a Japanese model manufacturer, today announced the first product from its popular and diverse assembly model brand "PLAMAX", "HH-01 Ichi", based on illustrations by artist neco from the series "Heavy Weapon High School Girl". The product is scheduled for release in February 2023.
"Heavy Weapon High School Girl" (重兵装型女子高生) is an illustration series by artist neco, which began in 2014. neco combines high school girls with near-future style armaments, deeply merging the contrasting elements of student uniforms and machinery. Through unique brushwork and color tones, the series showcases the aesthetic beauty of machinery, and the high school girls depicted not only possess cute appearances but also exude a cool and stylish demeanor. "PLAMAX HH-01 Ichi" is personally supervised by the original artist neco. For this assembly model product, neco has redrawn the design drafts and modified some equipment structures, adding a vibrant ponytail hairstyle and a version of the scabbard that is now supported by a mechanical arm instead of being suspended by a rope. These changes further enhance the product's playability and articulation, allowing for cool combat scenes to be recreated using three katanas, one short sword, and two daggers hidden in the heels.
Compared to previous PLAMAX assembly models, this kit boasts a higher degree of completion. Parts such as the sailor uniform's scarf & collar, crimson gauntlets, and metallic sword blades are all pre-painted. The face parts also feature pre-printed transfer decals to reproduce facial features like eyebrows and eyelashes, and are finished with a matte coating.
The overall part separation structure was developed in collaboration with Sentinel. The excellent body structure maintains the integrity of the sculpt while providing a flexible range of articulation. The eyeball parts are independently pre-printed, allowing for three different gaze directions (front/right/left) to be swapped to match various face parts.
