Following the popular anime and manga series HUNTER x HUNTER-themed products such as the "Gon Freecss" and "Gon Freecss Green Glitter ver.," Japan's HKDSTOY (Hikidashi Toy) is once again releasing the limited-edition fifth installment: the "Gon Freecss Monochrome ver." Japanese soft vinyl figure. It is priced at 8,800 JPY and is scheduled for release in late January 2023.
The manga series HUNTER×HUNTER, which began serialization in 1998 and whose ending remains far off, features its main protagonist, Gon Freecss. Growing up on Whale Island surrounded by nature, he was raised solely by his Aunt Mito. After a chance encounter where he learned about his father's exploits, he developed an interest in the Hunter profession. To find his father and fulfill his own dreams, he took the Hunter Exam and embarked on the path to becoming a Hunter.
The fifth installment in the HUNTER x HUNTER series, the "Gon Freecss Monochrome ver." Japanese soft vinyl figure, is crafted from high-quality Japanese soft vinyl, just like the previous two releases. Standing approximately 20 cm tall, it features a nostalgic body proportion and a simple, clean design. The black and white color scheme, reminiscent of the original manga, transforms Gon's early shorts attire into a "we miss him" grayscale (monochrome, モノクローム) contrasting tone. The hands have a simple articulation design, which, combined with Gon's innocent and cheerful smiling expression, creates a unique effect.
