Only you understand my tenderness! Japanese toy brand GOOD SMILE COMPANY's affordable pre-painted PVC figure series "POP UP PARADE" is set to release a character from the popular series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, the Demon Slayer Corps' Serpent Hashira, "Obanai Iguro", in February 2023!
The super popular manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (鬼滅の刃), which began serialization in 2016, officially concluded in 2020, but its merchandise remains incredibly popular. The second season of the anime, "Entertainment District Arc," premiered in December 2021 and finished airing in February 2022. It has also recently been announced that the third season, "Swordsmith Village Arc," is currently in production.
Obanai Iguro is a member of the Demon Slayer Corps, the Serpent Hashira among the thirteen "Pillars." While his appearance gives off a silent and cold impression, he is actually a gentle person. He has a tragic past, which led him to always cover his disfigured face with bandages. This also led him to become close friends with his white snake, "Kaburamaru." His swordsmanship is exceptional, his combat power is strong, and he is highly dependable. He harbors deep feelings for Mitsuri Kanroji but was hesitant to express them. It wasn't until the final battle with Muzan, when he was gravely wounded and on the verge of death, that they confessed their feelings to each other. After their reincarnation in the modern era, he and Kanroji became husband and wife, jointly running a fast-food restaurant and raising five children.
This POP UP PARADE Obanai Iguro stands approximately 16 cm tall and features his original design. He wears a black and white striped haori, and his heterochromatic eyes give his gaze a sharper edge. Wrapped around his neck is his best friend, the white snake Kaburamaru. His overall stance is serious, yet imbued with a hint of menace.
