Japanese toy company TAKARA TOMY's popular toy series, "ZOIDS," which combines animal and artificial mechanical imagery, today released a teaser visual for its 40th Anniversary Project, "ZOIDS 40TH ANNIVERSARY PROJECT." The project details have not yet been announced and are expected to be officially revealed in autumn 2022.

The "ZOIDS" series was a toy product line launched in 1982 by TOMY, a toy company before its merger with TAKARA TOMY. Its designs combine the imagery of terrestrial mammals, dinosaurs, and insects with cool mechanical structures, defining them as metallic lifeforms. The toy products allow various armor parts to be assembled onto a movable frame, and with an internal motor, they can move, deploy weapons, and perform other actions. Some higher-end products even light up, make sounds, and feature remote control functions, making them incredibly cool. Concurrently, the official brand has utilized the models to develop multimedia projects, positioning Zoids as weapons in conflicts between factions. Across various generations, titles such as "Zoids Battle Story," "Zoids: New Century," and "Zoids Wild Blast" have been released, creating a highly captivating world. As of 2018, the total shipments for the entire series exceeded 44 million units.
