British toy company First 4 Figures, known for releasing numerous exquisite character statues based on various popular video games, is set to launch its first bust in the series, themed after the classic popular game Metal Gear Solid: the "SOLID SNAKE" 1:1 Scale Life-Size Bust. It will be available in multiple versions, including a Standard Edition and an Exclusive Edition, with an anticipated release in Q3 2023.
The video game Metal Gear Solid, published by KONAMI and primarily created by Hideo Kojima, with its first installment released on the PlayStation platform in 1998, garnered enthusiastic support from global players for its extremely hardcore story setting, rich and varied elements (including unique humorous gameplay that lightened the serious and heavy atmosphere), paving the way for the Metal Gear Solid series and becoming a classic espionage stealth action game masterpiece that influenced the gaming world for generations to come.
One of the protagonists of the Metal Gear Solid series, "Solid Snake," boasts an IQ of 180, is fluent in six languages, and excels in Close Quarters Combat (CQC) and various firearms. He has resolved several major incidents threatening world peace during his missions and is known as "The Legendary Mercenary" and "The Legendary Hero."
The "SOLID SNAKE" 1:1 Scale Life-Size Bust stands approximately 56 cm (22 inches) tall and sculpts Solid Snake in his younger, early-era appearance. Modeled with anatomical precision, it faithfully recreates his facial features: his signature sharp gaze and furrowed brow, intently fixed on his target. Details such as skin texture, crow's feet, and stubble are realistically rendered, and even the textures of his bandana and stealth suit are depicted with lifelike accuracy. The base design is inspired by the in-game metal computer, with the front panel's computer screen displaying the Metal Gear logo. The entire piece is finished with a weathered paint application, conveying the harsh military environment he operates in.
