To commemorate the premiere of the latest Gundam series, "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury," on October 2nd, Bandai Namco's "GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE BASE SERIES," previously held across Japan, will now culminate in Tokyo. From September 29th to October 2nd, 2022, a large-scale event showcasing the Gundam worldview, "GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE -TOKYO BASE-", will be held for Gundam fans. The event will take place at the Triangle Plaza of Shinjuku Sumitomo Building in Tokyo, with free admission for everyone.
This "GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE -TOKYO BASE-" event will feature a diverse range of Gundam statues, installations, videos, and more from past Gundam events and collaborative exhibitions. It will also showcase the latest artworks created for "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury," including a 3-meter-tall life-sized bust of the protagonist's mobile suit, "Gundam Aerial," assembled from recycled model runners, the "2nd ROAD TO GUNPLA BATTLE" which experiments with Gunpla battles in virtual space, and a brand-new model runner art installation created in collaboration with Tokyo University of the Arts, among other rich content.
On the afternoon of October 2nd, there will also be a stage event where attendees can watch the first episode of "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury" simultaneously. Voice actors Kana Ichinose (as Suletta Mercury), Lynn (as Miorine Rembran), and Yohei Azakami (as Guel Jeturk) will be invited on stage for an interview.
Furthermore, Bandai will exhibit various new products from "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury" at the venue. These include completed figures, model kits, gashapon toys, arcade card games, candy toys, apparel, stationery, and more. In addition to "The Witch from Mercury," BANDAI SPIRITS will also unveil new Gunpla model kits, including the first public reveals for 'MG Ver.Ka' and 'SD Gundam World' series!
Naturally, a variety of event-exclusive Gunpla products will also be available for purchase on-site. This includes Gunpla made from eggshell materials and recycled materials previously sold at past events, as well as GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA exclusive items. This time, original Gundam merchandise featuring the "Love Me" theme, designed in collaboration with American artist Curtis Kulig, will also be launched. Detailed product information will be announced at a later date.
At the venue exit, attendees can also receive exclusive admission bonuses: a "The Witch from Mercury LOGO Special Gunpla Stand," a "The Witch from Mercury Special Booklet," and an "Mobile Suit Gundam ARSENAL BASE Gundam Aerial PR Card" for the arcade game!
