Japan's GOOD SMILE COMPANY, known for its popular "Nendoroid" series with over a thousand products, following releases like "Kirby" and "Ice Kirby" based on the popular game "Kirby," will now introduce "Nendoroid King Dedede"! The suggested retail price is 7,600 JPY, with an estimated release in May 2023.
King Dedede, who first appeared as a villain in the "Kirby" game, proclaims himself the king of Dream Land and commands a large army of Waddle Dees. Originally the final boss whose defeat would clear the game stage, his plump penguin design is incredibly endearing and cute, making him a classic "not-so-bad bad guy" in video games. He later evolved into an ally who is both a rival and a friend to Kirby.
The "Nendoroid King Dedede" stands approximately 95 mm tall, faithfully recreating King Dedede's signature red hat and red robe, capturing the majestic appearance of the King! It also includes interchangeable eye and mouth parts, allowing for various expressions such as a standard "happy smiling face," a cool "serious face" for battle, and a hilarious "wide-open mouth face" with his jaw dropped. Accessories include his dedicated weapon, the "hammer," and can be displayed with separately sold Kirby, Waddle Dee, and others to recreate the world of the series.
