Japan's TAKARA TOMY toy company's gashapon brand, Panda's Hole (Panda no Ana), announced its latest product yesterday (20th): "Fake Wildlife" (tentative translation, Nise Safari)! It is scheduled for release in late September 2022.
The "Fake Wildlife" gashapon, which delivers an immediate visual impact, is themed around humans donning animal skins to create a convincing illusion. This results in a mischievous and humorous work that stands apart from typical animal gashapon. The animal costumes are meticulously sculpted with mane details, skin textures, and the unique patterns of each animal, making them quite convincing. The exposed legs below are fully covered in black tights, clearly designed to resemble a "kurogo" (stagehand in traditional Japanese theater). There are five types of fake animals: "Lion," "Elephant," "Giraffe," "Zebra," and "Rhinoceros." The fake lion, when viewed from the side, even conveys a comical sense of running, which is absolutely hilarious! The official image's "ほぼ、本物。(Almost, real.)" makes one really want to retort, "Yeah, right!" XD
