BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has announced the latest product from its 'METAL ROBOT SPIRITS' series, which combines metallic-textured paintwork with an alloy frame. The "METAL ROBOT SPIRITS (Ka signature) Mass Production Type ν Gundam" from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack MSV" is scheduled for release in March 2023.
The RX-94 Mass Production Type ν Gundam was a mass-produced version of the "RX-93 ν Gundam" commissioned by Anaheim Electronics (AE) from the Earth Federation Forces, assuming a prolonged conflict during the Second Neo Zeon War in Universal Century 0093. It also utilized Psycho-Frame technology, but the armor and frame materials were downgraded, resulting in approximately 80% of the original unit's performance. Furthermore, considering that not only Newtypes or Cyber Newtypes might pilot it, the option to equip either Fin Funnels or "Guided Funnels" usable by regular soldiers was included. However, as the conflict rapidly subsided, only one prototype unit was produced and never saw actual combat, and the mass production plan was shelved.
The "METAL ROBOT SPIRITS (Ka signature) Mass Production Type ν Gundam" is fully supervised by popular mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME. It features a highly durable and weighty alloy movable frame, faithfully reproducing the numerous yellow thruster ports located throughout the body. While the chest armor, shoulder armor, and feet retain the deep blue and green colors of the original design, the characteristic light blue armor has been changed to a light gray, which might be a subtle difference for those who prefer the original colors. Additionally, the entire unit is adorned with original Ka signature markings designed by KATOKI HAJIME, significantly enhancing the richness of detail.
The armaments include a stylish Beam Spray Gun, Beam Sabers, and a Beam Rifle and Shield of the same specifications as the ν Gundam. The Beam Saber hilt, when stored on the backpack, can also function as a Beam Cannon, with its muzzle directed forward via a ball joint base. The most distinctive armament, the "Guided Funnels," comes with four main units and cables, allowing for dynamic scenes where all of them are launched!
