Japanese toy brand SO-TA (full name: State of the Art), known for its wide range of products from fun trinkets and realistic creatures to collaborations with various sculptors, has partnered with Japanese sculptor Isasa (@isanatolu) to release the "Finger-Riding Dragon" (tentative translation, 指乗りドラゴン) gashapon in January 2023! A metallic-coated boxed version will also be released simultaneously.
The "Finger-Riding Dragon" gashapon series features four collectible designs: the "Dragon (ドラゴン)" in original purple and flower field color schemes, and the "Wyvern (ワイバーン)" in lamp light and young leaf color schemes. Measuring 8.5–8.8 cm, these figures beautifully recreate the aesthetic of dragons crafted by Isasa. From the horns on the head and the spirit in the eyes, to the muscular lines of the wings, limbs, and tail, every detail is meticulously rendered. Based on the currently released real-life photos, the overall gradient colors, skin texture, and scale carvings all exude a realistic biological feel. The head also features an articulation mechanism, enhancing playability, and the design allows them to hook onto a finger, truly giving the impression of owning a miniature pet dragon!
▼ The metallic-coated boxed version is priced at ¥660 per figure, also featuring two dragon and two wyvern designs.
▼ Isasa's wyvern creations are truly impressive in their biological depiction!
