BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan, known for its Gunpla "MG (Master Grade)" series featuring the latest technology, complete part separation, and high posability, today announced the latest products from "Mobile Suit Gundam AGE": "MG 1/100 Gundam AGE-1 Full Glansa [Designer's Color Ver.]" and "MG 1/100 Gundam AGE-1 Full Glansa Expansion Parts Set", scheduled for release in January 2023. These products will be exclusively sold on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The Gundam AGE-1 Full Glansa is the mobile suit piloted by the elderly Flit Asuno in the fourth arc of "Mobile Suit Gundam AGE". In A.G. 164, the performance of the half-century-old Gundam AGE-1 was far inferior to that of the then-current Earth Federation Forces and Vagan forces. Therefore, its characteristic AGE System was removed, and the Gundam AGE-1 Normal form was repaired with heavy armor and missile launchers added all over its body, significantly enhancing its basic performance. It was also equipped with the "Shield Rifle," a weapon combining offense and defense, on both arms. Furthermore, with the addition of the "Glansa Launcher" on its back, which combines a beam launcher and thrusters, its firepower and mobility were further boosted.
The "MG 1/100 Gundam AGE-1 Full Glansa [Designer's Color Ver.]" is based on the previously released Gundam AGE-1 main body kit, with mechanical designer Kanetake Ebikawa providing renewed supervision. In addition to replacing the molding colors with a deeper, heavier designer's palette compared to the regular version, a set of upgrade parts to recreate the "Gundam AGE-1 Normal" form has been added. These include sharply sculpted head antennas, yellow twin-eye camera parts, and modified white exterior armor for the chest after the AGE System removal. It also features newly designed and supervised water-slide decals by Ebikawa to reproduce the markings across the mobile suit's body.
The included Full Glansa equipment is reproduced with new parts, featuring the additional armor throughout the body, the offensive and defensive "Shield Rifle," and the "Glansa Launcher" on the back, which combines a beam launcher and thrusters. It faithfully recreates the movable hatches for the missile launchers on various parts of the added armor, as well as the interlocking mechanism of the Glansa Launcher that deploys as the barrel swings up and down.
In addition, Bandai will simultaneously release a standalone version of the "MG 1/100 Gundam AGE-1 Full Glansa Expansion Parts Set", which does not include the AGE-1 main body. This kit is essentially the same as the version with the main body but features the original color scheme identical to the regular Gundam AGE-1. It can be equipped onto a separately sold MG main body to recreate the Full Glansa form.
