Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company HOBBY Division today announced the latest product from "Mazinger Z INFINITY", the "HG 1/144 Mazinger Z Gold Ver. (Mazinger Z INFINITY Ver.)", scheduled for release in February 2023. This product will only be sold exclusively on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
Appearing in "Mazinger Z / INFINITY The Movie", Mazinger Z (マジンガーZ) is a brand new demon god mecha designed by mechanical designer Takayuki Yanase. Although its basic appearance doesn't differ much from the past, its armor is not as smooth and flat as before. The new Mazinger Z adopts a modern style with numerous engraved lines and split armor, making the overall details and layers richer. Classic moves such as Breast Fire, Rocket Punch, and Missile Punch will also be reinterpreted with the new design.
The "HG 1/144 Mazinger Z Gold Ver. (Mazinger Z INFINITY Ver.)" is based on the regular version released in 2018. All exterior armor has been replaced with shiny golden plated parts, while the joints are rendered in a dark gold molded color. The overall impression exudes an extremely extravagant and luxurious feel, as if it's glowing golden when performing the Big Bang Punch in "Shin Mazinger Z Impact!". However, the price has also become quite extravagant at 13,200 JPY (tax included).
Once completed, the kit boasts a large size with a total height of approximately 175mm. The design, supervised by mechanical designer Takayuki Yanase, perfectly recreates the numerous engraved lines and split armor details from the film. The chest heat sinks are made of clear material, and the joint parts are made of KPS material, which offers superior strength and durability compared to ABS. Accessories include 4 interchangeable hand parts, Mazinger Blade, Mazinger Blade (knife), Rocket Punch effect parts, and Missile Punch launchers. Various classic moves, reinterpreted with the new design, can be recreated using the clear display stand!
