Japanese model manufacturer SYUTO (秋東精工) has followed up its popular "Sushi Model" (寿司プラモ) series, which previously featured the much-talked-about "Tuna/Salmon Sushi" and "Salmon Roe Gunkan Maki," with another highly anticipated new release: the "Cucumber Roll ver." 1/1 scale assembly model! The suggested retail price is 1,540 JPY per set, with an estimated release in March 2023.

This "Cucumber Roll ver." 1/1 scale assembly model, the first hosomaki (thin roll) sushi in the series, requires adhesive to meticulously glue together individual sushi rice parts, each the size of a real grain of rice. Players must carefully attach them straight onto a cylindrical shape, with a generous 546 grains of sushi rice (273 recommended for each half) for creative assembly – truly the most challenging sushi assembly model in history!

The nori (seaweed) parts are specially crafted in collaboration with food sample company "IWASAKI CO., LTD." to achieve a realistic sheen. Furthermore, the internal cucumber is composed of two parts: a skin part and a flesh part. The surface of the skin part meticulously recreates the textured, spiky feel of a real cucumber (though it's barely visible after assembly...). Every detail, inside and out, has been carefully considered! Once assembled, no additional painting is required to achieve a remarkably high level of completion!
