Since the premiere of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' in September this year, many fans have undoubtedly plunged back into the fantastical world of Middle-earth, unable to extricate themselves. Besides the new series, have you all also embarked on an enjoyable 'Lord of the Rings' movie marathon? The American designer playing card manufacturer theory11 recently officially unveiled its new collection of playing cards inspired by 'The Lord of the Rings'! Pre-orders are now open on the theory11 official website.
Updated on November 1, 2022:
The outer packaging of the 'Lord of the Rings Collector's Playing Cards' features a primary color scheme of gold, green, and black, exuding a luxurious feel while incorporating numerous classic 'Lord of the Rings' elements. These include Gandalf, Gollum, the Doors of Durin leading to the Mines of Moria (where the Balrog resides), Narsil, and the One Ring with its inscription in the Black Speech Tengwar script. The inner band of the Ring features the Eye of Sauron, while the outer band displays the English version of the poem. On the side, there is a giant statue of 'Elendil' holding Narsil, which is none other than the magnificent Pillars of the Kings, 'Argonath'! The packaging alone is incredibly impressive.
Moving on to the playing cards themselves, the card backs feature a design style similar to the packaging but with a different print. The card faces, including the suits and JQK cards, are reinterpreted using elements from 'The Lord of the Rings' story. This includes the White City of 'Minas Tirith' on the Ace of Spades, 'Aragorn' the Human King as the King of Spades, 'Legolas' the Elven archer as the King of Clubs, and the kind-hearted 'Samwise Gamgee', who always does his best to support Frodo, transformed into the Jack of Clubs. The overall design is truly exquisite and highly collectible!
