The new Macross series finished model kit 『TINY SESSION』 series, released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., following its first wave "VF-25G Messiah Valkyrie (Michel's Unit) with Ranka" and "VF-25F Messiah Valkyrie (Alto's Unit) with Sheryl", recently announced the latest products from "Macross Delta": "VF-31J Siegfried (Hayate Immelmann's Unit) with Freyja Wion" and "VF-31F Siegfried (Messer Ihlefeld's Unit) with Kaname Buccaneer", scheduled for release in March 2023.
『TINY SESSION』 redesigns the cool variable fighters appearing in the Macross series into adorable SD proportions. Although the overall size is within 10 cm, it features a precise and sophisticated transformation mechanism, allowing for the recreation of the three forms (FIGHTER, GERWALK, and BATTROID) by replacing some parts. Each joint also has a certain range of articulation, allowing for play with the included weapons. Additionally, it comes with 3 cm tall mini Q-version figures of popular female characters from each work, which can be displayed on the fighters to recreate singing scenes from the show.
"VF-31J Siegfried (Hayate Immelmann's Unit) with Freyja Wion" includes the VF-31J piloted by protagonist Hayate and a mini figure of heroine Freyja. Both the unit and the character feature a considerable degree of paintwork, recreating the azure lines on the unit and Freyja in her Walküre costume. The VF-31J boasts simplified articulation and transformation mechanisms, allowing for the recreation of all three forms by replacing the head, hands, and GUNPOD parts. A clear display stand is included as an accessory.
The tragic love duo's "VF-31F Siegfried (Messer Ihlefeld's Unit) with Kaname Buccaneer" essentially features the same specifications and content. It recreates Kaname's Walküre costume in black tones and Messer's unit's black and white color scheme. It also includes stickers to recreate the distinctive grim reaper emblem on the unit. The unit's articulation and transformation mechanisms are the same as Hayate's unit, but it includes unique parts to recreate the BATTROID head sculpt.
The other three "Walküre" characters, Mikumo Guynemer, Makina Nakajima, and Reina Prowler, are also scheduled for sequential release next year.
