Most people follow company rules and systems, day after day,
only caring about the small joys of lunch and afternoon tea, like a frog soaking in a milky hot spring, scrolling on its phone,
silently being cooked by the company, by society...
Soaking in a hot spring is like our societal comfort zone,
relaxing, comfortable, and therapeutic, yet also harboring an unconscious danger...
Living a day-in, day-out life of going to work and coming home~~
Friday brings a beer~ offering temporary release and salvation~
Is being a salaryman bad? We don't know?
But we have the time and courage to curse and fight in online comments~ scrolling on our phones looking for people and things to vent on
yet lack the courage to escape this hot spring called society...
We all wear smiles, thinking tomorrow will be better
yet fail to realize that every day we live within an SOP-driven, self-comforting healing system.
If we can never leave this hot spring called society
then we are no different from frogs slowly boiled in warm water.
With this work, I want to give myself courage
and also give others a warning
Time cannot turn back
Life is the same~ once it's gone, it's gone~ even in the most comfortable hot spring
one must get up, face it again, and bravely strive for a better future.
