Japan's renowned toy brand Kotobukiya, in collaboration with famous illustrator Shunya Yamashita, will release the latest product in the "DC COMICS Bishoujo Series": the "Batgirl (Barbara Gordon)" 1/7 scale figure, scheduled for release in May 2023!
In the original comic book setting, "Barbara Gordon," daughter of Gotham City Police Commissioner Gordon, was the second Batgirl, partnering with the first Robin, Dick Grayson. After being attacked by the Joker in the classic comic "Batman: The Killing Joke," which resulted in her lower body paralysis, Barbara retired as Batgirl and became active behind the scenes as the professional computer hacker "Oracle," responsible for intelligence support for Batman and other superheroes, serving as a powerful logistical asset.
The "DC COMICS Bishoujo Series Batgirl (Barbara Gordon)" 1/7 scale figure marks Batgirl's return to the DC COMICS Bishoujo series after 12 years, based on an illustration by Shunya Yamashita! Featuring her most classic Batgirl costume, master sculptor ke has meticulously recreated Batgirl's masked appearance, snap-button cape, leather suit, and boot stitching in a more modern style, with careful attention to the wrinkles and textures of the outfit.
