Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company's Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, under its "S.H.MonsterArts" series, which combines exquisite monster sculpting with excellent articulation technology, has announced the latest product from "Shin Godzilla": "S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla (2016) 4th Form (Night Combat Ver.)"! The suggested retail price is 16,500 JPY, with an estimated release in March 2023.
The appearance of Godzilla in the film "Shin Godzilla (シン・ゴジラ)" was designed by sculptor Takayuki Takeya. It is a "giant perfect organism" capable of rapid evolution and adaptation to its environment. Within hours of landing in Japan, it rapidly evolved through five forms: the first form, resembling a giant tadpole; the second form (also known as Kamata-kun), which first landed in Kamata; the third form, which grew forelimbs after landing; the complete fourth form, possessing a "thermonuclear energy conversion bio-organ" and wreaking havoc on cities; and the fifth form, where the tail end continued to evolve after being frozen.
The "S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla (2016) 4th Form (Night Combat Ver.)" stands approximately 18 cm tall and measures about 40 cm long. Designed based on the night combat scenes from the film, it perfectly recreates the terrifying head sculpt of Godzilla's 4th Form, its small and sharp eyes, the rough and eerie skin texture across its entire body, and its massive tail. Through red translucent material and paintwork, it reproduces Godzilla's body glowing red in the darkness; combined with articulated joints, collectors can enjoy posing its classic wide-open mouth!
