Today, the popular action figure series 'S.H.Figuarts', released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, officially announced product information for its latest item from the movie "Shin Kamen Rider": "S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider (Shin Kamen Rider)", scheduled for release in March 2023.
The Kamen Rider 50th anniversary commemorative work "Shin Kamen Rider", set to premiere in March 2023, is a reinterpretation by director Hideaki Anno based on the original "Kamen Rider". It features talented new-generation actor Sosuke Ikematsu as the new-generation Takeshi Hongo, leading audiences to relive Kamen Rider No. 1 and No. 2's joint fight against the evil organization "Shocker" that seeks to conquer the world, all presented in a modern style infused with nostalgic elements. Naturally, the design of the protagonist, Kamen Rider No. 1, has also been appropriately refreshed, retaining its original silhouette while being given a more refined and stylish design, along with a new setting featuring an exposed skin-toned neck and hair.
The "S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider (Shin Kamen Rider)" is produced as a fully articulated figure standing 14.5 cm tall, faithfully reproducing this version's design, which blends new and old aesthetics. Detailed metallic paintwork is used to recreate the rivets on the helmet and armor, as well as the mechanical structure on the belt. The distinctive red windmill at the center of the "Typhoon" belt also features finely sculpted blades. The product includes three types of interchangeable hand parts for both left and right, allowing for various poses from transformations and battles in the film. This version's signature "black trench coat" is made from fabric material with an embedded adjustable metal wire, though the overly prominent large seams and thick fabric still appear somewhat unnatural.
