Years ago, on Earth -1 of the Dark Multiverse, Superman, once the world's beacon of hope, went mad! Unbelieving heroes desperately sought the cause until Superman killed his wife, Lois Lane, and Batman gave up... In the decisive battle against Superman, Batman's right arm, holding a Kryptonite spear, was severed by Superman's heat vision. As Superman mused why others thought Batman could defeat him and prepared to deliver a fatal blow to Bruce, a desperate and resolute Batman injected himself with the "Doomsday Virus" from his utility belt. Gaining immense power, his body began to transform into a terrifying, Doomsday-like form, and his severed right arm rapidly regenerated. Thus, "Batman - The Devastator" was born.
