Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya has announced its latest plastic model kit product, "EVANGELION Production Model New Unit-02α," from "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time," finally set for release in April 2023, with a suggested retail price of 13,200 JPY.
The "EVANGELION Production Model New Unit-02α" 1/400 scale plastic model kit stands approximately 218 mm tall when assembled. Utilizing CAD-designed movable structures and precise sculpting, it offers a high degree of articulation while accurately reproducing the complex, pieced-together form where everything below the chest has been modified into JET ALONE-style heavy armor after repairs. Details such as high-density missile launchers and thruster pipelines are faithfully recreated! Some parts are pre-painted, allowing for a significant recreation of its appearance from the film even with a straight build.
For accessories, it includes the heavy weapon "Triple Gatling Gun," two forms of "Stop Signal Plug," and a "Naginata," along with multiple interchangeable hand parts. By swapping parts, the main body can be displayed without the large thruster backpack on its back.
