TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., which issues the "METAL ROBOT SPIRITS" series combining metallic texture paintwork and an alloy frame, today announced that the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack MSV," the "RX-93 ν Gundam (Double Fin Funnel Equipped Type)," is scheduled for release in May 2023.
The RX-93 ν Gundam (Double Fin Funnel Equipped Type), now being commercialized, is based on the original Ver.1 design from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack MSV." Its backpack has been modified to carry three Fin Funnels on each side to enhance balance. The design of some armor parts, the beam rifle, and the shield also differ from the standard ν Gundam, though there is no difference in performance. This form has been commercialized less frequently compared to the Ver.2 version, which mounts 12 Fin Funnels.
The "METAL ROBOT SPIRITS RX-93 ν Gundam (Double Fin Funnel Equipped Type)" stands approximately 15 cm tall. Its design faithfully reproduces the distinctive shoulder armor, chest armor, beam rifle, and shield from the original design sketches. The entire model is finished with a rich, heavy matte and metallic paint application, and abundant body markings are printed throughout, providing high-density detail. The main joints of the body and limbs are also made with electroplated alloy parts, offering robust and flexible articulation, including pull-out shoulder joints and movable knee and foot joints, making it even more dynamic to pose.
The armaments include a beam rifle, shield, beam saber, the ν Hyper Bazooka with an extendable mechanism, and Fin Funnels mounted upside down on both sides of the backpack. Accessories include a dedicated stand and a set of clear supports, allowing all 6 Fin Funnels to be detached and displayed, recreating battle scenes where the funnels are deployed for attack.
