The Hong Kong toy brand threezero today announced that its robot alloy action figure series, "ROBO-DOU," will release the latest product from "Armored Trooper VOTOMS," the "X・ATH-02-DT Rabidly Dog," expected in Q3 2023.
The X・ATH-02-DT Rabidly Dog is an Armored Trooper that was improved and mass-produced based on the XATH-02-SA Striker Dog, enhancing its performance. In the TV series finale, it was the unit piloted by the protagonist, Chirico Cuvie, in the final decisive battle. It is equipped with larger fixed armaments such as an Iron Claw, an 11mm machine gun hidden beneath the claw, and an Armored Fist. Its backpack features a Mine Launcher System, and its handheld weapon is the miniaturized 30mm caliber assault rifle, the "HANDY SOLID SHOOTER."
The "ROBO-DOU X・ATH-02-DT Rabidly Dog" stands approximately 16 cm tall and is constructed from ABS, PVC, POM, and die-cast alloy for its movable frame. The figure faithfully recreates the in-series proportions and design, boasting 76 points of articulation and the ability to transform into its landing pose. It also features highly playable mechanisms such as an opening head, cockpit, and maintenance hatches. Intricate details are sculpted, including the head sensor, rivets and seams on the heavy armor, and the internal structure of the cockpit. A same-scale Chirico Cuvie non-articulated figure is also included and can be placed inside the cockpit.
The entire machine is finished with a matte coating to reproduce its heavy, dark blue color, and undergoes realistic weathering treatment, showcasing rich details such as rough paint surfaces and chipped paint on the armor edges. For its armaments, in addition to the "HANDY SOLID SHOOTER" assault rifle, the Iron Claw's mechanism to deploy the 11mm machine gun is recreated, and effect parts are used to simulate the shell ejection from the twin "Armored Fists." The backpack's mine launcher deployment mechanism is also faithfully reproduced.
