Japan's gashapon toy manufacturer "State of the Art" (SO-TA / 株式会社SO-TA) is set to release a new color version of the "1/1 Satanic Leaf-tailed Gecko & Armadillo Lizard" (オニタマオヤモリ＆アルマジロトカゲ) gashapon/boxed toys! This follows the highly popular "Satanic Leaf-tailed Gecko & Armadillo Lizard" from their "Animalier Collection" series, which realistically reproduces various creatures. There will be four types in total, scheduled for release in February 2023.
This new color variation of the "1/1 Satanic Leaf-tailed Gecko & Armadillo Lizard" boxed toys, themed after popular pet reptiles, is once again sculpted and supervised by Shuzo Kanimushi, head of the biology department at the Japanese design team Frog Tree (フロッグツリー). Produced at a 1/1 scale, the assembled and extended length is approximately 120 mm! It meticulously and realistically recreates the distinctive Satanic Leaf-tailed Gecko (Spiny Knob-tailed Gecko) and the Armadillo Lizard curled into an 'O' shape by biting its tail. This time, a new lineup is introduced: Black Spiny Knob-tailed Gecko, as well as Satanic Leaf-tailed Gecko (Spiny Knob-tailed Gecko, Yellow), Armadillo Lizard (Yellow, Defensive Pose), and Armadillo Lizard (Gray, Defensive Pose). The bumpy spines on their bodies and feet are precisely reproduced, and their mouths can even be posed open or closed!
