The complete figure "ROBOT魂 GUNDAM AERIAL ver. A.N.I.M.E." from "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury," released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., is set to officially launch on November 18, 2022. Ahead of its release, official sample unboxing photos have been revealed, thoroughly showcasing the appeal of this product!
In the anime, the GUNDAM AERIAL is a mobile suit produced by Shin Sei Development Corporation located on Mercury. Its development was led by President Prospera and piloted by her daughter, Suletta Mercury. Suletta has lived with the AI installed in the Gundam Aerial since childhood, considering it a family member. When piloted by Suletta, it can unleash top-tier mobile suit performance. Its armaments include beam sabers, a beam rifle, and a shield. The shield can separate into 11 "GUND-Bits," which can be used not only as remotely controlled all-range wireless weapons, "Funnels," but also connect to various points on the body and the beam rifle, serving as equipment to enhance mobility and firepower.
The distinctive armor design, reminiscent of well-defined muscles, is also thoroughly reproduced in the "ROBOT魂 GUNDAM AERIAL ver. A.N.I.M.E." product. Compared to the HG model kit version, it further emphasizes the human-like curves of the arms, chest, and legs, and most of the armor features rich line details. The head camera is rendered in metallic green to convey a glowing texture, while the masks on the forehead, chest, and thighs have sculpted details on the inner side of transparent parts, showcasing the internal mechanical structure.
The number of articulation points throughout the body has significantly increased compared to the HG version. Leveraging the articulation joint design experience cultivated in the ver. A.N.I.M.E. series, the pull-out joint structures in the shoulders and hips expand the overall range of motion. Furthermore, the upper arms and elbows, upper and lower thighs, and the beam saber mounts on the backpack all feature segmented parts and independent rotatable joints, allowing for flexible and natural poses.
For armaments, it includes a beam rifle, beam sabers, a shield, and beam effect parts. The shield is divided into two types for interchangeable use: "shield-specific parts" and "BIT ON FORM-specific parts." This allows it to maintain the stability and volume of the shield form, while also preventing strange part connectors from being exposed when separated into GUND-Bits for use as Funnels or in BIT ON FORM. Additionally, the product includes a set of 6 clear stands for the GUND-Bits, which can be directly attached to the Gundam Aerial's back or mounted on a separately sold TAMASHII STAGE display stand, recreating cool battle scenes with all GUND-Bits deployed!
