Japan's renowned toy company "Sentinel", in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the classic anime series 《Ronin Warriors》, is set to release the sixth new product in its "Chou-Dan-Kadou" series in June 2023. This latest addition is none other than "Kongo no Shu" Shuu Rei Fang, one of the main protagonists of Ronin Warriors!
The anime series 《Ronin Warriors》 (Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, literally "Armored Samurai Troopers"; known as "Armored Saint Seiya" in Hong Kong) was produced by the renowned Sunrise animation studio, airing from 1988 for a total of 39 episodes. The anime's most prominent feature is its story of five protagonists, each donning colorful battle armor called "Yoroi Gear" (よろいギア), resembling Japanese samurai, and possessing distinct abilities and titles, as they battle against the Youja Army led by the Demon Emperor "Arago".

Incidentally, it can be seen that the protagonists and armor designs of this work bear a strong resemblance to 《Saint Seiya》. This project was influenced by and created in response to the success of 《Saint Seiya》 in 1986. At the time, the theme of humans donning armor to fight was very popular, and Ronin Warriors later became a classic representative of this genre.
"Kongo no Shu," whose real name is Shuu Rei Fang, wears orange battle Yoroi Gear. He is a descendant of a martial artist who came to Japan from the Sui Dynasty. His weapon is the "Kongo Staff," a three-section staff. He fights using the energy of the earth and is also known as the "Warrior of Earth." His special move, "Gantetsusai," concentrates energy to crush enemies, and after Chou-Dan-Kadou awakening, it transforms into "Chou-Dan-Kadou Gantetsusai."
This latest release from Sentinel, Kongo no Shu Shuu Rei Fang, is the sixth product in the series. It inherits the highly articulated body's excellent playability, and the armor can be independently assembled into a display state with its dedicated stand. For accessories, it includes two sets of interchangeable hand parts, and his main weapon, the "Kongo Staff," can fully recreate all its various forms. Four types of vivid and expressive interchangeable face parts are also included. The overall kit features some magnetic connections.
