The Gunpla series featuring a precisely articulated inner frame, detailed color separation, and flexible articulation, the "MG (Master Grade)" series, released by the HOBBY Division of BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. Japan, has announced its latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam UC", the "MG 1/100 Stark Jegan", scheduled for release in February 2023. This product will be sold exclusively on BANDAI's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The RGM-89S Stark Jegan is a special operations variant modified from the Jegan D-type, with enhanced performance achieved by adding numerous armaments, and is primarily piloted by ace pilots and commanders with exceptional skills. This unit features additional armor in multiple locations across its body and a large thruster unit on its back to enhance mobility. Furthermore, it continues the operational concept of the III, with a set of 3-tube missile pods mounted on each shoulder, gaining more powerful anti-ship attack and long-range support capabilities. In the "UC" series, this unit engaged in fierce combat with the large mobile suit "NZ-666 Kshatriya" piloted by the Cyber Newtype Marida Cruz. Although it ultimately succumbed to its opponent due to performance differences, its combat performance was exceptionally spectacular, making it a popular mobile suit.
The "MG 1/100 Stark Jegan" is based on the previously released Jegan D-type kit, with rich molded part colors faithfully reproducing its appearance from the series. It utilizes a large number of new parts to recreate the head sculpt, which differs from the D-type, the dark gray additional armor across its body, the large thruster unit on its back, the detachable 3-tube missile pods on both shoulders, the beam saber, and the hyper bazooka, among other areas. Metallic plastic stickers are used to represent the sensors on the missile pods. Some of the additional armor features deployment mechanisms, allowing for the deployment of the chest cockpit hatch and the weapon racks in the arms that store beam sabers or grenade launchers.
