Japanese toy company KOTOBUKIYA is scheduled to release a three-dimensional figure of "Yasha Hime" from the game "Momotaro Dentetsu: Showa, Heisei, Reiwa is the Standard!" in May 2023!
The "Momotaro Dentetsu" series (桃太郎電鉄シリーズ) was originally launched in 1988 on the Nintendo Famicom by Japanese game company Hudson. It was based on characters from the anime "Momotaro Densetsu" and combined railroad company management with Monopoly-style board game mechanics. Since its release, it has garnered excellent reviews and is famously known as a "friendship test" game. The series has seen over twenty installments across various gaming platforms to date.
The latest installment in the series, "Momotaro Dentetsu: Showa, Heisei, Reiwa is the Standard!" (桃太郎電鉄 〜昭和 平成 令和も定番!〜), released on the Switch in 2019, features a significant departure from previous styles. This game has undergone a major overhaul of the overall art style for its characters, including familiar faces like Momotaro, Kintaro, Yasha Hime, and Urashima Taro, all of whom exhibit noticeable changes from their past appearances.
This PVC figure of Yasha Hime, produced by Kotobukiya, directly references and materializes her latest design from the game. Standing approximately 14 cm tall, in addition to her standard standing pose, Yasha Hime can be displayed in various actions through interchangeable hand parts, a staff accessory, and expression parts.
Furthermore, the box includes thick colored cardboard featuring game stage background patterns and roulette background patterns, as well as station nameplates, allowing you to freely combine and display her with your favorite station as a backdrop. Friends who love the Momotaro Dentetsu game should definitely consider adding this to their collection!
