Highly Anticipated Non-Gundam Series New Work 'METAL BUILD MS-18E Kämpfer' Silhouette Appears at Event - Product Under Development!

The popular die-cast toy series 'METAL BUILD', released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., unveiled for the first time the silhouette of its latest work, "MS-18E Kämpfer", from "Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket" at the TAMASHII NATION 2022 event held last weekend. The release date is yet to be determined.

Towards the end of the One Year War, facing a disadvantage against the Federation's mass-produced Mobile Suits, the Principality of Zeon attempted to develop various new MS models to find ways to counter the Federation. One of these was the "MS-18E Kämpfer", an assault prototype, which was the last work completed by Zeon. Although the Kämpfer was developed by strengthening the Zaku's frame, generator, and propulsion system, its overall design was specialized for close-quarters combat. It was equipped with high-thrust thrusters and attitude control nozzles throughout its body, allowing it to lean forward and glide at high speed, performing hit-and-run assault missions with extremely high mobility and firepower. However, the trade-off was its extremely thin, lightweight armor, with even the front skirt armor completely discarded.

Currently, only the silhouette of the prototype for "METAL BUILD MS-18E Kämpfer" has been revealed. One can observe the Kämpfer's extremely lightweight body structure, equipped with a rich array of armaments including Twin Bazookas x2, Sturm Fausts x2, and a Shotgun. It is exciting to anticipate what kind of original new mechanisms or armaments METAL BUILD will add.
