The American toy brand MEZCO TOYZ's retro-styled action figure "5 POINTS" series, based on the 1974 monster film "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla," is launching a larger 4.5-inch "5 POINTS XL Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla" set, featuring three classic giant monsters! The suggested retail price is $65.00 USD, with an estimated shipping date between May and July 2023.
"Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla" (ゴジラ対メカゴジラ) is a Toho monster film released in Japan in 1974, the 14th installment in the Godzilla film series, and a commemorative film for Godzilla's 20th anniversary. The story is primarily set in Okinawa, Japan, where a prophecy foretells giant monsters destroying the world, and two monsters will appear to save it.
To defeat Godzilla, the King of Earth's Monsters, aliens from the Third Planet of the Black Hole construct a secret base beneath Okinawa and build Mechagodzilla from space titanium. Godzilla, alongside King Caesar, the guardian deity of the ancient Azumi royal family, teams up to confront Mechagodzilla in battle!
The MEZCO TOYZ "5 POINTS XL Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla" set includes the three titans—the King of the Monsters, Godzilla; the mechanical monster, Mechagodzilla; and the ancient guardian deity, King Caesar. It faithfully recreates the retro Showa-era monster appearances, with simple articulation designs paired with interchangeable head sculpts, atomic breath, heat ray, and other effect accessories, allowing you to recreate thrilling battle scenes of these giant monsters!
