Released by Japan's GOOD SMILE COMPANY, the popular "Nendoroid" series, boasting over a thousand different products, will feature the popular anime BLUE LOCK as its theme and launch the first installment, the "Nendoroid Yoichi Isagi" articulated figure! The suggested retail price is 6,900 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in June 2023.
The Japanese football manga BLUE LOCK (ブルーロック), originally written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, aims to "enable the Japanese national team to win the FIFA World Cup in 2022." It gathers 300 strikers under the age of 18 and initiates the highly controversial "Blue Lock Project" to train the world's best striker. While it is a sports manga, it deviates from the typical shonen tropes of teamwork, passion, and friendship, instead integrating a self-centered, battle royale-style competition into the sport of football.
The "Nendoroid Yoichi Isagi" stands approximately 10 cm tall. Its chibi design faithfully recreates the Blue Lock-exclusive blue jersey. It comes with three interchangeable face plates: a gentle "Standard Face," a blissfully happy "Eating Face," and a "Serious Face" for when he senses a scoring opportunity. The abundant accessories include an essential "Soccer Ball," "Sports Drink," "Steak" (only available to top-ranked players), his favorite "Kintsuba," "Special Lower Body Parts," "Shooting Leg Parts," and an "Original Base," allowing for a variety of dynamic poses!
