After the pandemic's devastation since 2020, we are finally seeing a gradual reopening recently. This event might be the most impactful, bringing us back to the days when we could frequently meet beloved international artists and toy designers! The major event 【The Waffle Room】, a collaboration between Hong Kong's How2work, Taiwan's The Little Hut, and the renowned street brand Vans, kicked off yesterday (the 25th) in Taipei's East District and officially runs today and tomorrow.

This three-way collaboration, "The Waffle Room," brings together artists from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and other regions, combining elements of skateboarding, street culture, and surfing to recreate the 60s and 70s Vans-style Californian lifestyle! The artists' three-dimensional works are sold in the form of "waffle sets." And why waffles? If you're curious, toy enthusiasts might want to flip over their Vans shoes and see if they can find a pattern on the sole that strikingly resembles a waffle!~
Beyond the comfortable venue and impressive exhibits, another major highlight of this event is, of course, the interactive and live drawing sessions with many artists present! These include Kasing Lung, Kila Cheung, Shoko Nakazawa, Kohei Ogawa, Louis Wong, Jessica Ng, and SHON SIDE. Toy enthusiasts who love their work absolutely shouldn't miss this opportunity!

▼ The HONDA CRF-300L created in collaboration with Rough Crafts! So cool.

▼ One of the highlights of this event, the 29 cm tall "Zimomo SBA XL," is a limited-edition dynamic sculpt released in collaboration with Vans, and it's incredibly cute!

▼ Artists drawing on oversized Vans shoes with acrylic markers.

▼ The array of three-dimensional works and custom skateboard pieces is incredible! Artists have dressed their classic characters in past Vans apparel or incorporated the brand's signature checkerboard pattern. For toy enthusiasts who are also captivated by street culture and Vans, this is truly a dream collaboration.

▼ The retro packaging boxes are also a highlight!

▼ Surfboards are also a very important element in this exhibition.

▼ After finishing the shoes, the artists once again showcased their talents on a canvas at the venue, collaboratively completing this incredibly spectacular piece.

▼ Kila and Ogawa-sensei drew each other's characters this time, which is fantastic.
