The popular action figure series 『S.H.Figuarts』, released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors' toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, recently announced the latest product from 《Kamen Rider BLACK SUN》, the "Battle Hopper (Battle Hopper Motorcycle)", scheduled for release in May 2023.
《Kamen Rider BLACK SUN》, exclusively streamed on Amazon Prime Video, was produced to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Japan's popular tokusatsu series 《Kamen Rider》. It returns to the original theme of "Kaijin" (monsters) by remaking the popular 1987 series 《Kamen Rider BLACK》, presenting a new story depicting the cruel fate and sorrowful tale of Kotaro Minami and Nobuhiko Akizuki. The designs of the Kamen Riders and Kaijin in the series differ from the original, significantly enhancing their realistic biological appearance. The "Battle Hopper," BLACK SUN's beloved motorcycle released this time, has also been redesigned, with reduced grasshopper elements and exposed mechanical structures.
The "S.H.Figuarts Battle Hopper" thoroughly recreates the motorcycle actually ridden by Kamen Rider BLACK SUN in the series using entirely new parts. Transparent parts are used for various light covers, and the grasshopper-shaped front cowl is meticulously crafted. The engine, suspension system, various pipelines, and wheel patterns all feature precise detailing, and multiple metallic colors are applied to differentiate between parts. It can be paired with the separately sold "Kamen Rider BLACK SUN" figure to recreate riding scenes. It also includes a red compound eye head and a chest replacement part with the "BLACK symbol" drawn on it, allowing for the recreation of its appearance during the final battle at the end of the series!
