The popular poseable figure series 'S.H.Figuarts', released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., recently announced the latest product from the movie 'Shin Ultraman', 'Ultraman Descent Ver.', scheduled for release in May 2023.
The Ultraman appearing in 'Shin Ultraman' is based on the 'Incarnation of Truth and Justice' design drawn by the late Tohl Narita, the original Ultraman designer. Elements such as the 'Color Timer', 'actor's peeking holes below the eyes', and 'fin-like design created by the back zipper' that appeared on the tokusatsu suit are all absent. Instead, CG technology is used to largely recreate Tohl Narita's design of long limbs and elegant, streamlined form. And because there is no Color Timer, Ultraman's various states are represented by changes in body color.
The 'S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Descent Ver.' represents the silver-white form Ultraman takes when he first appears and descends to Earth in the film. The main body utilizes the previously released standard version as its base, recreating the character's slender physique from the film and repainted in a silver-white finish. With its flexible articulation design, it can be posed in various battle stances from the movie.
Furthermore, accessories include a 'Spacium Ray Effect (Long)' which was not included in previous versions, as well as a 'Spacium Ray Effect' and a 'Beta Capsule' that can be used with the standard version. The 'Spacium Ray Effect (Long)' measures 25 cm in length, allowing for the recreation of the iconic opening scene where Ultraman unleashes the Spacium Ray, soaring over mountains to directly strike the Transparent Kaiju Neronga.
