2022 is unknowingly coming to an end, and the cold winter is approaching! Have you all prepared the down jackets on your cold-weather checklist? Japan's TAKARA TOMY toy company's gashapon brand, Panda's Hole (パンダの穴), recently announced a rather interesting new gashapon, "Insect Down Jacket" (tentative translation, KONCHU DOWN)!
In the setting of this KONCHU DOWN gashapon, insects have developed high-performance down jackets with lightweight, windproof, durable water-repellent properties, and a refined design, all to survive the upcoming severe cold! The super-snug fit ensures that even when wearing this KONCHU DOWN, the insects retain their highly recognizable biological silhouettes. It includes five types: "Stag Beetle (KUWAGATA)", "Scorpion (SCORPION)", "Cicada (SEMI)", "Scarab Beetle (KOGANEMUSHI)", and "Ladybug (TENTOMUSHI)".
While maintaining the insect's form, the unique texture and puffy feel of the down jacket are meticulously sculpted. The ladybug's jacket even features its iconic spots, and the color distribution on the cicada's down jacket creates a visual effect reminiscent of molting. All these designs make the appearance of this gashapon very interesting! However, it is currently uncertain if the scale will have such a noticeable size difference as shown in the official images. Highly recommended for toy collectors who love insects.
