BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan today announced the latest product from the novel "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack - Beltorchika's Children," the "HG 1/144 Psycho Doga," which is scheduled for pre-sale at Fukuoka GUNDAM SIDE-F starting December 19, 2022. It is also planned for future release at PREMIUM BANDAI and THE GUNDAM BASE stores.
The MSN-03-2 Psycho Doga is a Newtype-exclusive mobile suit developed by Neo Zeon. While sharing a name with the prototype α Azieru from MSV, it is a different machine, holding a similar position to the Jagd Doga in the theatrical version. This machine was developed based on the Geara Doga, utilizing Psycho-Frame technology. The biggest differences are the high-mobility booster backpack mounted on its back and the funnel racks on both shoulders, equipped with a total of 6 rechargeable funnels, allowing Newtype pilots to perform all-range attacks via the psycommu system. In the novel, the first Psycho Doga unit engaged in combat with Amuro's Re-GZ, was heavily damaged, and later captured to become enhancement material for the Hi-Nu Gundam.
The "HG 1/144 Psycho Doga" is based on the previously released HGUC 1/144 Geara Doga kit. It not only features a new molded color to reproduce the gray-white scheme from the setting but also utilizes numerous new parts to create its unique head, the three stabilizer thrusters on its back, and the funnel-equipped shoulders. The Neo Zeon emblems on the head and shield are separate parts, allowing for the yellow emblem to be reproduced simply by assembly without the need for painting.
For weaponry, it includes a Beam Assault Rifle, a shield, a Beam Sword Axe, beam effect parts, and six funnels in their deployed state. These can be combined with separately sold action bases to recreate funnel launch scenes.
