Following the release of Ultraman (Shin Ultraman), the popular action figure series 'S.H.Figuarts' from Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS has once again announced the upcoming release of "Mefilas" from the movie 'Shin Ultraman', slated for June 2023.
The alien No. 0, "Mefilas", who appears in 'Shin Ultraman', is portrayed by the talented actor Koji Yamamoto. He had been secretly lurking on Earth long before Ultraman (Shin Ultraman) arrived, presenting himself as friendly to humans. He negotiated with high-ranking Japanese government officials to initiate a plan for "Giant Human Defense Against Hostile Alien Invasion," granting humans the ability to giantize like Ultraman through the "β System." However, Mefilas harbored no genuine camaraderie with humanity; instead, he sought to make humans realize their powerlessness before monopolizing control over the giantized human forces.
The "S.H.Figuarts Mefilas" action figure, standing at 15 cm tall, faithfully recreates the new design from the movie. It utilizes multiple colors and clear parts to express the chillingly eerie head sculpt. The slender, elongated black body is sculpted with sharp angles and legs covered in conical shapes. Accessories include three pairs of interchangeable hands, a "BETA BOX Igniter," and "Beam Attack Effect Parts," allowing for the recreation of Mefilas' unique two-palmed hand gesture and scenes from his giantized battle against Ultraman!
Furthermore, the "BETA BOX" that Ultraman seized from Mefilas and held in his hand in the film also appears as a BONUS part. It can be combined with the separately sold "Ultraman (Shin Ultraman)" figure to recreate the pose of holding it.
