Japanese gashapon toy manufacturer Kitan Club (キタンクラブ) is collaborating with renowned Japanese yokai picture book artist Ayako Ishiguro to release the latest third wave of 'Bakeneko Zorozoro' (Endless Cat Yokai, provisional translation) this December! Let's take a look at the super cute yokai included this time.
In Ayako Ishiguro's works, various Japanese-style yokai often combine with animals. Besides the main cat yokai, there are also fantastical yokai that blend dog and fish features, as well as octopus and mouse yokai appearing in human-like forms. Kitan Club's 'Bakeneko Zorozoro' series always brings a rich lineup of yokai, and this third wave features 6 types, including 7 different yokai. The one the editor most wants to collect is definitely the Umbrella Cat Yokai with its green tongue sticking out. The Loach Cat Yokai, appearing in the form of a loach, is also a very unique presence. The Zoni Cat Yokai and the Nyappera-bo (Noppera-bo Cat) come as a set of two. This is highly recommended for toy collectors who love Ayako Ishiguro's work.
