World-renowned TV and film special effects company "WETA Workshop" recently unveiled a monumental product celebrating the 20th anniversary of "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers": the "Helm's Deep" environment statue! It is currently available for limited-time made-to-order production on the WETA official website, with an estimated shipping date in Q4 2023.
Helm's Deep, geographically located in the great valley northwest of the White Mountains in Middle-earth, is historically a stronghold of the Rohirrim and an impregnable refuge fortress. As early as the reign of Helm Hammerhand, the ninth King of Rohan, Helm's Deep served as a crucial outpost for the Rohirrim against the Dunlendings. In the film "The Two Towers," Théoden also chose Helm's Deep to confront the Uruk-hai army of the fallen White Wizard Saruman, leading to the brutal Battle of Helm's Deep. Although Helm's Deep was renowned as an unyielding fortress, its culvert and walls were ultimately breached by the Uruk-hai army using "Saruman's blasting-fire."
This piece magnificently sculpts "Helm's Deep" and its surrounding mountain walls within a 55 cm long and 27 cm high specification. The entire piece is crafted based on models, photographs, and data from the film's production, featuring exquisite hand-sculpting from the walls, gates, stairs, watchtowers, culvert, and the Great Hall, all the way to the Glittering Caves at the back. It strives to present intricate details while also conveying the centuries-old historical traces of this fortress. Even the varying textures of the rocks were meticulously considered by sculptor Leonard Ellis. Furthermore, the interior of the fortress can be illuminated with a torch-like lighting function to enhance realism, truly making it an incredibly impressive masterpiece!
