Fellow Toy People, today we've arrived at a rather special venue: the "G-Eight" Game Expo, which brings together numerous Taiwanese independent games! This is a collective exhibition for Taiwanese indie games, prepared by "Thomas" from "Don't Go To Work," 6tan, and other industry professionals, truly belonging to the players. Our Toy Expedition Team took the opportunity to sneak into the venue before the exhibition officially began to bring a live report to all toy enthusiasts who love gaming.
G-Eight Indie Game Expo
Event Dates: 2022.12.09 (Fri) - 12.11 (Sun)
Venue: Taipei Expo Park EXPO Dome (No. 1, Yumen St., Zhongshan Dist., Taipei City)
Organizer: G-Eight Inc.
This three-day "G-Eight" Game Expo brought together 82 studios and development teams, showcasing a total of 93 independent games. As Taiwan's largest indie game exhibition to date, the event featured not only the highly anticipated 2D side-scrolling adventure puzzle game "Nine Sols" from renowned domestic indie game developer Red Candle Games, slated for release in 2023, and SIGONO's 3D adventure game "OPUS: Echo of Starsong," but also saw the presence of famous US-listed indie game publisher Devolver Digital. Teams participating also included those developing board games, card games, and real-life puzzle games, making the content truly rich and diverse.
The G-Eight Game Expo adopted a unified stage approach for the venue. Although there were performances and interactive programs throughout the event, players who wanted to fully enjoy the games could still play at various booths. The event also featured game knowledge challenge segments with Thomas and 6tan, as well as game-related music performances by DJ Question Mark, Anime & Beats, and SLS Music.
▼ If you're a toy enthusiast with a strong desire to collect, you absolutely cannot miss this G8 collectible card collecting event! In addition to playing games, each booth has tasks or mini-challenges, and upon completion, you can obtain a card representing that booth!
