The adorable idol who captivates fans! Japanese toy company Kotobukiya's SNK Bishoujo series of figures is set to release a 1/7 scale figure of the popular female character "Athena Asamiya" from SNK's popular fighting game series The King of Fighters in June 2023!
Athena Asamiya (麻宮アテナ) is an extremely popular female character in SNK's The King of Fighters series. Utilizing psychic powers and other techniques, she has appeared since '94, making her one of the few characters to be present in every installment. Furthermore, Athena's outfit is always different in each appearance, and her voice actress also changed before '98 (starting from '98, Haruna Ikezawa consistently took on the role), which is one of her distinguishing features.
This Athena Asamiya figure from Kotobukiya's SNK Bishoujo series is materialized based on her appearance in The King of Fighters '98. It foregoes the skirt from her previous iteration, replacing it with black tight shorts, which makes her legs appear longer. Her upper body features her signature Chinese-style red top. With long purple hair, star hair accessories, and Athena's adorable V-sign pose, the overall look is vibrant, lively, and charming. The included base design is inspired by the raft stage where the China Team appeared in '98.
