Spirit Sword unsheathed! Japanese toy company Good Smile Company's best-selling "Nendoroid" (ねんどろいど) toy series will release "Kazuma Kuwabara", one of the four main protagonists from the classic 90s anime and manga Yu Yu Hakusho! Scheduled for release in June 2023.
Created by renowned manga artist Yoshihiro Togashi, Yu Yu Hakusho (幽☆遊☆白書) began serialization in 1990. Although its serialization ended many years ago, it remains a classic work in the hearts of many readers. The story of protagonist Yusuke Urameshi and his companions meeting, forming bonds, and battling across various realms is still endlessly captivating and a popular theme for many merchandise items.
▼ Yu Yu Hakusho's classic theme song "Hohoemi no Bakudan" (微笑みの爆弾):
Kuwabara, also one of the four main protagonists, is a good brother to Yusuke, having become friends through their initial rivalry. Although simple-minded and easily deceived, he unexpectedly possesses high spiritual power and learns quickly. His materialized spiritual power's signature weapon is the Spirit Sword, initially appearing as a sword. Later, he uses it more flexibly, transforming it into shurikens for launching, or rapidly extending, bending, and using it for pole-vaulting. After reawakening his spiritual power in the Sensui Arc, he even learned the Dimensional Sword, capable of cutting through space. He is usually very righteous, persistent, and deeply fond of Hiei's sister, Yukina. Surprisingly, he is also a cat lover. In the Demon World Arc, he was the only one who didn't go to the Demon World, and by the end of the story, he successfully enrolled in his ideal school.
This Nendoroid Kazuma Kuwabara, released by Good Smile Company, is based on his favorite white biker gang outfit, which he wears during important battles, with the "健康第一" (Health First) on his back faithfully reproduced. Interchangeable face plates include a "standard face," a "combat face," and a "happy smiling face." For weapon accessories, he comes with his most frequently used "Spirit Sword." Additionally, there's a headband inscribed with "雪菜命" (Yukina's Life/Yukina is My Life), and his beloved cat, "Eikichi."
