Today, TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, announced that the latest product from 'Mobile Suit Gundam SEED,' the 'BuCUE,' from their robot-themed action figure line 'ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E.' is scheduled for release in May 2023.
The TMF/A-802 BuCUE is a quadrupedal mobile suit utilized by the ZAFT ground forces' main units. It boasts a unique beast-like design, capable of traversing rugged, obstacle-filled terrain with its four-legged locomotion. Additionally, all four legs are equipped with high-speed track structures, allowing it to easily conquer both mountainous and desert environments. In combat, it can leverage the instantaneous thrust from its back wings to enhance acceleration and turning capabilities, executing hit-and-run tactics with superior mobility. It is armed with a twin beam saber that deploys from both sides of its head, while its back armament can be chosen between a twin railgun or a 13-tube missile pod, depending on mission requirements.
The "ROBOT SPIRITS BuCUE ver. A.N.I.M.E." faithfully recreates the BuCUE's refined and cool beast-like form based on its anime design. Leveraging the series' accumulated expertise in excellent articulation design, it features flexible movable joints throughout its head, torso, and four limbs. This allows for dynamic poses capturing its powerful sprints across the land, as well as its transformation into a track-driven locomotion mode by retracting its limbs.
Accessories include a detachable "450mm Twin Railgun" for the back and a set of effect parts. These allow for the recreation of scenes such as the deployment of the head-mounted twin beam sabers, the firing of the railgun, the thrust from the twin-wing boosters, and the kicking up of sand by its rear legs. Pair it with the separately sold "Strike Gundam" to recreate classic desert showdowns! The other optional back armament, the "13-tube Missile Pod," will be included in the "Z.A.F.T. Weapon Set for the Zodiac Alliance of Freedom Treaty" released concurrently.
